Island Tour East

Overview

A holiday favorite for foreign visitors and Greeks alike, Samos is known beyond its borders for its Muscat wine and for being the birthplace of the brilliant Pythagoras and goddess Hera. Samos is an island of pine-covered slopes, picturesque villages immersed in green lushness, some major archaeological sites and serious hiking potential. Joining us on our island tour we can explore together and learn more about this island with reach history. Starting our tour, with an experienced guide on the bus, we visit a Greek Orthodox monastery to learn more about religion which is a very important part of Greek life. Pottery and ceramics have a long history on the island of Samos, and this is the reason we visit a local workshop where experienced ceramic craftsmen will demonstrate and explain different pottery styles. Moving along, our next stop is to sense, taste local products like honey and herbs. Last but not least, is the visit to a local winery, with the opportunity to taste delicious, fruitful, Samian wines and of course an oil factory, since olive trees grow on this island plentifully. It’s almost lunch time so we arrive at our lunch stop in a beautiful beach, where you can swim, eat, relax. To finish our day nicely, our last stop will be Kokkari, a panoramic, traditional sea front village for a short walk around, coffee or drink.
